This year the Grinch can’t steal [the war on] Christmas, as we will go visit him at Hop Louie. The bar at Hop Louie has always been home to the surliest bartender the WDBT has ever encountered; word has it he is still smarting after our stop on the Gold Line Golf Tour where we queued up about 100 songs on the jukebox. As a token of apology, we will bring some holiday cheer to this quiet corner of Chinatown - which will probably just cause more annoyance, but thats okay. As long as we resist the urge to carol.
Hop Louie takes cards (with a $20 minimum purchase) and will pour a huge margarita if you have the guts to ask. Street parking is pretty easy to find on Hill or elsewhere nearby. Also, feel free to bring a inexpensive to cheap bar (or beverage) related gift for the annual WDBT holiday gift exchange, which will take place sometime in the 10 pm hour.
As usual, the casual debauchery starts around 9PM and gets really interesting by 10:00. Come for one drink, or stay for one too many. Bring anyone and everyone, and join us for a great time in the middle of the week. If you arrive early or late, look for the people having a damn good time (it’ll be us), or start having a damn good time on your own (we’ll find you).
